For a list of trusted home plan firms specializing in Georgian home designs, please visit the Georgian Home Plans Directory.

Georgian house plans are rectangular in shape and usually have fairly symmetrical floorplans. Chimneys were on the end or side, and Central hall designs flanked by 1 or 2 rooms was common. Rooflines were mostly gambrel style with some gabled. Material were either wood or brick.

The main entranceway (doorway) often has sidelights (rows of rectangular windows) in the door in or the transom. Columns or pilasters capped by a cornice were also common. The windows were usually double hung and symmetrical around the door.

On finer homes, plain eaves were replaced by molded cornice, with dentils and quoined corners.
